After 8 years of teaching, my syllabus has pretty much stabilized, but I finally added this in for the two or three students every term who suddenly realize not doing the work has consequences, and want me to figure out how they can pass.

Answer: Yes, however, you must be attending. Please ask this only if you have attended two of our last four class meetings. Also, you must draft the first proposal of this plan. Please review the grading breakdown (found in the syllabus) and your grades and missing work, and write down your course goals and plan for achieving them before we meet.
