Endo/Aborted Surgery/Complications

Here’s my post from somewhere else, I’ll attach op notes, discharge summary, and additional pics. Also I guess my questions would be… Have you seen this before? What could have caused them to not be able to make entry on the first surgery? Is it possible permanent damage has been caused? What should I make sure the next steps are? Genuinely just what do I do?

Okay had my second lap done… well attempted, and they were also going to take my tubes on Tuesday, and it was a total failure I just want to know if anyone else may have possibly had the same experience because we are at a MAJOR crossroads! So the easiest way to explain it is that everytime she would cut me my deep tissue would swell and expand so much that the were unable to get anything in (I’ll nest some pictures so you guys can see just how much they cut attempting to get in and were unable to!). They called my husband while I was asleep and asked him if he thought I would want to be cut like a cesarean again (which he shut down immediately)! She said in her 20+ years that she has NEVER seen anything like this, and is planning to get me a team set up at UAB/Vandy. At this point I am highly considering just getting a hysterectomy and being done with it! I’m so swollen that I look like I did pre-130lbs weight loss, Very vulnerable picture so please don’t be mean!”

This was my post in another group, it won’t let me put pics in the comments… it’s been a few weeks.

After this I ended up going to the hospital (I now know that they were unable to break through my fascia due to it having no integrity, they very poorly explained to us why they had to abort the first time), the swelling ended up getting worse and I was unable to empty my bladder and was in immense pain, it felt as though I had a severe UTI. Went to urgent care and was negative so they told me to go to the ER where my surgery was. First order of business wast straight cathing me to drain my bladder (which woke my bladder back up and helped the pain a tiny bit) They did a CT with IV contrast and found an 11.6 cm pocket of what they believed was air in my pelvis, which led to them believing I had a perfed bowel, and they were able to at some point break through the fascia, but hadn’t realized due to the fact that it had no integrity. So they did another CT this time with oral and RECTAL contrast (worst experience of my life btw). Which showed them that it in fact was NOT a perfed bowel, and was a pocket of fluid in my subcutaneous tissue. They scheduled a surgery to do a wound wash. Did the surgery and sent me home within a few hours. Now I’m still in pain, my whole stomach is still swollen, it looks like I have a softball sized hernia on the left side of my belly button. Just went for my one week post op to remove the wound vac, it was with a different doctor than who did the surgeries… that’s another story for another day😖 I go back to see the original doctor this week for the possibility of more imaging… at that point I will be requesting a transfer!!!!

ETA: I have also recently lost 120lbs, that was one of the things they kept mentioning.

Has this happened to anyone else?

“Failed Lap, doc says she’s seen nothing like this in 20+ years!
