My cat is peeing on the carpet

I have done some research and I believe he might have a uti due to him never having done this before. I cannot afford vet care currently I give him wet food and am planning on being more careful with his water is there anything else I can do to help him/treat him? should i stop giving him dry food is there any type of food that can help him out or over the counter meds? I will be able to take him to a clinic within a week just need something to help him now!

I am unsure if my cats nail is healing (NSFW)

I am 20
posting from the US
I have not contacted a vet yet
My cat ripped off his nail about a week ago it bleed a bit but I searched and as long as there’s no pus or profuse bleeding or complaints it said he will be okay, I have been keeping it clean and now it looks a bit weird so i wanted to see if anyone knew if this is part of the healing or if he needs medical attention
Cat is 14 months old he is neutered and I cannot realistically afford vet care
