Does my mum need a new will? (England)
My father died on December 2024, and a few months before his death he and my mother created new wills.
My belief is the wills were pretty standard - whichever one dies first leaves everything to the survivor. When the survivor then dies their estate gets split between me and my siblings.
Now my dad has died, does my mum's will need changing or is it still valid?
Speaking to her this morning she raised that question and I told her that I thought she'd be okay. A shower and coffee later I'm sort of questioning myself!
EDIT: thanks for the advice. Mum is highly unlikely to remarry - she's 85! I'll pass on the advice.
