Students Joining IIIT NAGPUR in 2026
Hi, I’m a 2nd year undergraduate student at IIITN.
One thing I want all of you to understand clearly: the WhatsApp group made for the 2030 batch is completely run and controlled by 1st year students. Some of them may be genuine and helpful, but many of them are heavily biased.
To be very precise — the owners of that group mostly want attention, popularity, and influence in college. They want juniors to follow them and treat them like some official guides of the college, which they are not.
My advice:
For important and critical questions regarding academics, hostel life, coding culture, placements, branch realities, or the actual college environment, try contacting seniors from BT24 or BT23 directly on linkedin. They are generally more mature and experienced enough to give practical and honest answers.
Do not blindly follow this “bhaiya-didi” culture created by 1st year students. Most of them are simply not mature or experienced enough yet to guide you properly on serious matters.
My personal experience:
When I joined this college, I also interacted through these groups. Later I realized that many of those so-called guides were mostly interested in attention, fame, and becoming popular. In reality, many of them were nowhere significant in academics or other activities.
Conclusion:
Do not blindly trust WhatsApp groups run by random students. Instead, connect with genuine seniors through platforms like LinkedIn and ask your important questions directly to experienced people.
