When was the first time you caught yourself thinking, “Wow, I’m really somebody’s mom”?

Will you start celebrating now that you've had a full hour's sleep? Or suddenly realize that you always carry some snacks with you wherever you go? You can even distinguish several different kinds of baby‘s crying? Or just found out you already have 10,000 photos of one person on your phone? Would you like to share your story with us in this post's comment zone?

I’ll choose one story to receive a gift box as a thank-you for sharing with the community. I will take into account everyone's feedback on the story and the one I like the most to determine the person who will receive the gift box. This is my first time testing the Contest Mode, so we may meet some problem, but I’ll try to solve. If you have any advice on to build this community, please feel free to share~

But this contest mode is not for evaluating the criteria. I use Contest Mode to enable every story has an equal chance to be seen. It's merely to prevent early comments from having an advantage and to avoid copycat voting. I will turn off the contest mode after the event. So, after the event, everyone will be able to see the upvotes.

I'm not sure how many people will join in, so let’s keep this open for 2 days to give everyone plenty of time to join the conversation.

Winner announced on May 25. I’ll put the winner user name in the comments zone.

What’s your favorite show before vs. after becoming a mom?

Do you still remember what type of TV shows or movies you used to enjoy the most? I think the kind of films and series we're drawn to lately often reflects our current emotional state, though not necessarily in a precise way. Sometimes, what captivates me about a show is the state the main character embodies. But there are also simpler reasons for choosing certain shows. Now that when you become a mom, what kinds of shows do you find yourself enjoying the most? What genres of TV dramas appeal to you these days?

Hi everyone!

As the moderators of r/momcozyofficial , we are incredibly excited to host our very first official AMA (Ask Me Anything)! Our AMA will start at 8 AM on May 18 (New York Time)

We’ve heard your voices and recognized the need for professional, reliable information within our community. To kick things off, we have invited a distinguished expert to join us and support your breastfeeding journey.

Meet Our Expert: Melissa Kotlen, RN, IBCLC

Melissa is Momcozy’s Clinical Liaison Manager for Lactation & Maternal Health. She will bring an incredible wealth of knowledge to our community:

  • International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) with 22+ years of experience.
  • Former Labor & Delivery Nurse at Mount Sinai Hospital in NYC.
  • She has helped thousands of families navigate the complexities of breastfeeding in hospitals, private practices, and community settings.

Melissa is here to answer your questions about breastfeeding, pumping, milk supply, latch issues, and general postpartum lactation support.

How This AMA Works

If you’re new to Reddit, an AMA (Ask Me Anything) is an interactive Q&A session where you can post your questions in the comments below, and our expert will provide direct answers.

  • Phase 1 (Question Collection): Our AMA will start at 8 AM on May 18 (New York Time). This thread will be open for 24 hours from that time. Please drop your questions below!
  • Phase 2 (Expert Answers): Melissa will be reviewing and answering your questions over the following 24–48 hours.

A Note on Transparency & Guidelines

To ensure a professional experience and respect our guest's personal privacy, we have implemented the following:

  • Account Ownership: The account u/Phiil6 used by Melissa for this AMA was created and is managed by Momcozy. For security and privacy reasons, Melissa will not be using her personal Reddit account for this event.
  • During the AMA: For the duration of this event, full access to this account has been handed over to Melissa. Every response you receive will be written and posted by Melissa herself.
  • Post-Event: Once the AMA concludes, the account will be returned to us.

We chose this approach to provide a dedicated, focused space for lactation support while maintaining clear boundaries for our guest expert.
