I feel like Lucifer pretty much wears his heart on his sleeve and is pretty open with his emotions, while Alastor is more cautious and guarded for safety reasons. He's more willing to let his guard down and show more vulnerability if it's just Alastor and Lucifer, otherwise Alastor has a reputation to maintain. The true telltale to how Alastor is feeling is his ears, tho. In the show, whenever Alastor is in danger or displeased with something, his ears are pinned back or angeled straight down. It's most likely Alastor and Lucifer would try to keep their relationship a secret from everyone to have a sense of privacy and maintain both of their reputations, but I know Lucifer would want to tell Charlie first (and Lilith if they're on good terms when she returns). Charlie would be a little confused and distrusting of Alastor's intentions at first, but once she realized how much Alastor and Lucifer care for each other, she would be overjoyed and proud of her dad for finding love again. Niffty would write sooooooo much fanfiction and have so many invasive questions for the new couple to ensure her stories are "accurate". Husk, Angel Dust, and Cherri Bomb have seen this coming from a mile away; they always have front row seats to Alastor and Lucifer's fighting/flirting antics and placed bets on when they'd get together a long time ago.
