I adopted a 5 year old coonhound a few months ago that has no sense of “play”. If I give him a ball , he just drops it . He doesn’t have interest in play fighting , letting me chase him , chew toys or the usual dog stuff . He was a stray ( probably a hunting dog ) and then spent 2 1/2 years in shelters so I’m assuming it’s just that nobody ever played with him before …. or is it just a coonhound thing ?
