Need some help. Topic sharpening

Hey fellas.

I'm at the end of the rope here. Over the last couple of YEARS I've soaked up loads of info about sharpening properly, Chisels first and foremost. But for the life of me I can't get a good edge on mine.

Equipment wise i've got the following:

Kirschen Chisels - good quality German brand. Chrome-Vanadium steel

1000/6000 grit Combination stone from King - not too bad either

Veritas MK2 Sharpening Jig - great thing. Should make everything easy right? Nope

220 grit dressing stone - also not the cheap shit. Should be good

After struggling for years to get a good result I've decided to completely resharpen my Chisels from the ground up. Started to flatten the back. Used the old marker trick to see how im doing. Reflattened my stone from time to time with the dressing stone after every chisel. With the broader chisels even more often. Overkill perhaps but I really wanted to get it right finally. I thought I would keep perfect flat that way but after some time I checked with a long straight edge again and who could've guessed. There's almost a 1mil valley in my stone 1000grit side. Now the only explanation I have is because my dressing stone is 3cm shorter than my stone which might have caused that valley. But if I start to take material off the ends to make the valley meet them, in my head the stone could turn out wonky/twisted. I've finished flattening them but by the looks of the stone "flat" might be compromised by now. No use even starting with the bevels I think.

Guys.. im tired of this shit... sharpening takes forever and I haven't gotten anywhere close to shaving any hair for years now. I know it doesn't need a razors edge to do any work but by now its personal. I feel stupid and I'm running out of ideas.

Any input would help

Is my stone shit. Should I get diamond plates. More stones with smaller steps in grit number to work out the rough stuff in lower grits. Should I get a longer dressing stone. I'm all out of wits now

Thx in advance <3
