Ok, I've been making mead for a few years now and have always wondered about volume when adding fruit in primary.

For example, with my fruit bag in the must, the volume is 6 gallons and with the bag removed, the volume is 5 1/2 gallons. Say I'm using the MeadCalc and want to get an accurate SG, is the volume I put into the calculator going to be 5.5 or 6?

I know it doesn't make a big difference, but I am curious. Thanks!
