Advice for recent Economics graduate currently looking for entry-level roles
Hi everyone, hope y'all are doing well.
I have recently graduated from SFU with a BA in economics, and my experience involves working as an investment analyst intern at an asset management firm and as an RA for a finance professor at the Beedie School of Business. So far, I've been networking with senior officials at firms such as Deloitte and RBC, it seems there are no openings for entry-level graduates anywhere.
Currently, I'm focusing on networking and setting up informational interviews with alumni and senior employees working at top firms, as well as applying for job postings on LinkedIn, Indeed, and Glassdoor. Unfortunately, no matter what I try, there just don't seem to be any entry-level roles anywhere.
I would greatly appreciate any advice on how else I can improve my job search or if I am perhaps approaching this incorrectly. Thank you.
