Consumer Direct Companies

Has anyone worked for a decent consumer direct company? I had an interview with Zillow but they stated they hire people with 2years plus experience. I don’t have that. I do not want to go broker or self generate right now. I have to have an income.

I received my license in 11/2024 and started working for a brokerage in December. I had no idea of what I was doing. I was going to open houses and cold calling. I was getting loans but my Ops teams would just tell me they weren’t going to close. So I never closed a loan. I felt discouraged and So in February I went to work for a direct lender. I have about 20 leads in my pipeline, some aren’t ready, some are working on their credit and so on. I cold call realtors everyday and follow up and this has led to about 10 meetings, 2 office presentations that my boss wouldn’t let me do alone. Next week I’m going to a brokers open . I have been there 90 days. There is one girl in the office that hasn’t liked me and now the 2 other ops people I share an office with stopped speaking to me because I left the door unlocked twice and didn’t take my garbage. Anyway, the 1 ask I asked for when I went there is that I have an office. Monday my boss gave me my 90 day performance and it basically said I hadn’t even pulled credit. This is an at will state, why not just fire me? He says I have to be on the road Tuesday-Thursday and up my performance. I had one loan and the lady was getting ready to make an offer, the co-signer put her info in at the last minute and never e-consented. My boss said we can’t give her the go ahead until credit was ran. Of course once that happened, they would only be approved if they came up with money they don’t have. I told them, they called my boss. After that phone call I don’t know what was said but all of a sudden they hated me and I better not ever call them again. Which I still find odd. Hate is a very strong word for something that wasn’t my fault. I don’t want to mess up my brokers open next week and the relationships I’ve made but they are going to fire me anyway. My comp is 1.25 for self Gen. They provide my credit reports.
