Stepping stone

For those who have been in this profession, I have a question.

A little context: I was recently offered a Tower Technician/Inspector position. The role mainly consists of tower inspections, taking measurements/photos of towers, and some labor work. It also requires heavy travel throughout California and heavy overtime.

My main question is: Do you guys think this is a good stepping stone into becoming a lineman later on?

I’m a military veteran, so I’m used to physically demanding work and structured environments. I’m mainly trying to figure out if the experience gained in telecom/tower work transfers well into the utility/lineman side of things long term.

Any advice or insight would be appreciated.

Removing personal information from Data Brokers

So the other day I started receiving random phone calls around 6am. My phone would ring for about 4 seconds then stop, then ring again. I declined the calls and then would block them and report as spams.

Then about two hours later I receive messages demanding money, $5,000 and if i don't, my family will pay the price. They then proceed to send me a message with my Full name, age and old address. Along with names of a few relatives

I've been reading up on some websites that can "remove" you're personal information from data brokers but I'm having trouble deciding which ones actually work. So here I am writing this asking for some advice.

Thanks.
