Time to Get Corrected is playing in The Smiler shop again!

The OG Time to Get Corrected slogan is playing again in The Smiler shop, it plays every after few loops of the smiler shop theme song. Various other phrases are there too such as “the smiler will marmalise your body and mind”

With the needle imagery and marmalisation being added back to the video screens and Marmaliser leg. It looks like Alton Towers is slowly working towards restoring The Smilers OG theming. It would make sense given all the time that has passed, the fact tabloids seem to have shut up recently even when the smiler has technical issues and all the feedback recently with everybody asking for the theming back.

There’s also a video with evidence pointing to the smilers theming being restored which I will link here:

According to others, Howard Ebison (manager of Alton Towers) has states they do want to restore The Smilers correction theming, but they’re relying on guest feedback.

What are your thoughts? I personally am over the moon seeing these things come back and it’s definitely an awesome move. I personally believe The Smiler has the absolute best storyline of any coaster and it’s absolutely criminal that a big chunk of its storyline had been removed.

Peronsally I love The Smiler and it’s my favourite ride in the UK (Yes, I prefer it over Hyperia) I’ve always found it good, last year is the only time I would say it was quite rattley and it wasn’t running too great but even then, I wouldn’t say it was painful.

The Smilers layout is very smooth aside from the exit cobraroll (3rd to last inversion) and due to that one part I think that people find The Smiler rough. A ride can be fantastic but if it ends badly, that’s the last impression you come off the ride with. It’s like when you watch a movie with a terrible ending, it leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

The cobraroll is definitely uncomfortable but I wouldn’t say it was painful (though maybe that’s because I’m tall) I do think however if Alton Towers extended the cobraroll and smoothed it out, people would like The Smiler A LOT more.

But what do you think? Do you think The Smiler is great ride with a bad end? or do you have a different take?
