Egg retrieval experience British Columbia Canada ❤️
October 6, 2026 – I had my first egg retrieval today with Olive Fertility in Vancouver, and I honestly had an amazing experience.
The day before, I was so worried about the pain because I generally have a low pain tolerance. However, right before the procedure, the team gave me two painkillers through my IV while asking a few casual questions to keep me relaxed. The next thing I knew, I was completely sedated and woke up comfortably once it was all over after 20 minutes. Afterward, they wheeled me into a recovery room where my husband was waiting. The nurses were so caring, and I felt like I got a great, restful sleep.
My procedure was performed by Dr. Hitkari, and he was incredible—he was so knowledgeable and truly understood my past egg retrieval experiences at other clinics.
To all the ladies out there nervous about this step: please don’t be afraid. The care and process here in Canada are truly reassuring! At the end they told me 16 eggs retrieved 🤞
