Would anyone would want to see the stony point / Mornington peninsula to becomes a Vline agian or keep as a metro?

I want to hear people’s other opinion about this topic and to think if it is worth seeing a velocity on the Frankston line

but I am aware that there is two different conventions about two lines

I do wanna hear about stony point if it is worth returning back to Vline as a through line then a shuttle

and for the Mornington peninsula line being Build as it will link a lot of areas south of Mornington

New shuttle express route 602

hello there it is has come to my attention that the 900 is constantly busy and packed on the weekdays and weekends to get to chadstone.

Chadstone is the largest shopping centre southern hemisphere and Australia aswell but chadstone is lacked with direct bus to the nearest train station.

no other routes stop applies on the to have direct link unlike 900 / 903 between Oakleigh - chadstone with no stops between it. maybe not be necessary but I think the reason to apply this route is to give a relief pressure on the 900 / 903 and have people to have a direct connection between gives more space on the corridor like how the 601 was placed to relief the pressure on the 630/900 towards Huntingdale station

where will it go? and how is it gonna operate

the company that will run the operation will be Ventura, Ventura is one of the best operators to run on . its reliable, comfortable unlike Dyson where the seats is rock asf, gives the location of where the bus is located on a real tracker like 201 and the shuttle will run under 8 mins on the weekend and on weekdays 8 aswell depends how the depends is high

the 602 will start from Caulfield station, then it runs express all the way to chadstone with the route, running on dandy road then slip road where the 900 is currently doing. in a short time it will arrive in couple minutes, then it will continue down the dandy road all the way to Monash uni where it’s a large hub on students and education and the shuttle being close to Monash hospital the route can extend further to M city if needed overall there is a beneficial to have this route implemented

Where did the 601 go?

Now ik that 601 is the busiest bus route in Melb and lots of people use the 601 to get between the station and the uni, including the best frequency aswell. but on this day, at a particular time during the peak. there was a long line that stretched quite far and even the station as-well where people wanted to get on I’m saying 20+ people were waiting at the station. at uni looks like it’s hundreds of students waiting for the bus I saw people rushed to get the 900 as they were showing up on the timetable while the 601 was running only 2 bus as far as I saw and those bus that has one door on a busy corridor then having multiple Bendy bus is just shocking to see

I have never seen this bad before or nither how this is getting treated would anyone agree by this?

Missing some service on the timetable

hello all I have finally got my hands of the new timetable papers, after when the metro tunnel has opened, I had a quick look at what’s updated and I have noticed that some express burnley trains on the against peak travel is missing and I’m quite lost on why PTV would hide these services even tho they are on the website that they do exist and I have been on these trains before. these express trains are Ringwood, riversdale, syndal / glen Waverley.

dose anyone knows why they have hide them and I have the old timetable but I havent get the chance to look at the old one to compare it but am upset that the icon of the timetable papers at the front is removed

Gippsland express

hello there I wanted to have a point here of why we needed the express more on the Gippsland

since the liberals in the early 2000s commit invest to the regional railways the government wanted to target to cut down journeys to 90 mins on the Gippsland at the time between Melb - Traralgon

As of today it takes 2 hours between Melb to Traralgon and towards beyond Traralgon to Bairnsdale 2 hours extra

for this distance is completely out argued to see how far and the distance it is. im shamed that the government didn’t reach it’s target as it’s supposed to and kept it’s promise. even if I compared trains/cars it would take the travel distance to under 2 hours (on Sunday)

one of the reason why it’s 2 hours is because the pakenham line is long that it takes 1 hour to get out of the city, most people including Gippsland would agree that this shouldn’t happen to take this long as quote ”gippsland is the slowest vline in Victoria“

my proposal is to have express trains and all Bairnsdale trains will only stop at major stations like Warragul Traralgon and moe. but for Traralgon services will to skip small stations between to cut down the time travel more and to bet cars as to say that trains are more faster to get to the city then car.

to include this i would want to make a local trains that terminate at Warragul as there is sidings and large space to do that as it used to have the suburban trains ending there

for this to come into real life, this requires to fully duplicate the tracks from bunyip to longwarray and quad the tracks from Oakliegh - dandy and to triple the tracks, Caulfield to Oakleigh, this will decrease the time distance to 90 mins or lower, to include this upgrade the other track pair to 160km or to both upgrades the tracks to 200km as parts of the line can handle the 200km stretch offering the reliable service at a good top speed of the mainline this also means that parts of the busy station will get a 20 mins frequency then 40 min

in the future I will look on to see what else if we can upgrade other parts of the mainline aswell

(Metro) Can we increase the mainline / suburban rolling stock to 130/140?

:Suburban rolling stock

my reason why I am raising topic, this is because the suburban top speed is 110km, while other parts of the suburban network can reach 160km or 130/40.

but the suburban trains are restricted to 110, there isnt anything blocking in the way to reach top speed and im confused why are we not maxing the top speed on the Siemens (130) , HCMT (140), extrap 2.0 (130)

I do know that extrap 100 will be restricted to 100-110 because of their horrible suspension, but are build to handle 140km to keep in mind. is the reason is because of the break/signal is the problem? or the government haven’t spend enough to reach that top speed?

: Mainline
for the mainline, Im raising this topic aswell because for example pakenham line, from Beaconsfield - Pakenham the top speed is 100. the geography shows that the line is straight with no curve that the line can handle 160 - 200km. same line example I can give dandy to Oakliegh the top speed is 80, but same agian it can reach better speed 100-110km. is there a main reason we cannot get a better speed on the other lines (i am talking about express trains and big gaps between the stations aswell not local trains stopping all stations)

Extend the Frankston express timetable

hello, the Frankston timetable is shit for the express frequency, during the peak times for the morning and the afternoon. my problem with the timetable is that in the morning it starts at 7 and ends at 8 and for the afternoon it’s 4 until 7 which it sucks for the people outside of the peak times for the morning and the afternoon / evening

my proposal is to extend the express timetable

my reason to start at 6 is the time that’s when tradie starts heading to their work including office people and bit later, students will use began taking public transport, it to get to their schools and ending at 10 as it’s appropriate time to finish morning peak.

For the afternoon, starts at 3 to all the way to 8, because In the afternoon students starts to leave school 3-4, and by the time it’s finished the adults starts to leave work aswell but the usage during peak times will dwell 7-8 and then express will just finish for the day until the morning come around.

for the express pattern before the peak time, there could be a pre-peak as the express pattern will only express to Caulfield. But when the full peak kicks in the express service pattern will extend to Cheltenham.

in conclusion, this adjustment would improve the commute times, capacity and passenter flow for student, tradies, etc.

Move the Airport line to the RRL

hello there

so I have a good reason on why should u agree on my side about this idea

over the past years I have seen the metro one tunnel getting build and seeing the stations opening, how ever i remember that this project will allow for the airport line to be build and everyone would agree about it but as years went on, we never thought that the Wyndham vale / tarniet would get busy and busy and wood be the time to electrify the line to handle the capacity and the demands aswell.

once the metro 1 was finished now we have more capacity to be build for the west side but it still makes me wonder sense we need to eletrify the lines for the Wyndham vale could we fit space for it?

i did some maths and I do know that CBTC are able to handle more trains up to 2 mins or min and half and I did some maths for 6ph for all 4 lines and it gave me 24 - 30ph if that’s correct so u can fit Wyndham vale line to it but there won’t be enough space for the other lines capacity during peak times

now why should we put the airport line to the RRL?

if u look else where in the world for example gatwick AirPort Express they put their trains onto the regional trains as it’s the best way to use then going on a suburban trains and making the trip fast ik the airport is very far from the London then Melb

so I thought what if we pull out the airport line and go on to the RRL to platform 15/16 or platform 8 this would be good as because the airport line dosnt need a supper high frequencies it can use the spark regional trains, unlike Wyndham line it’s a suburban line, would give the space for the Wyndham trains to go via the metro tunnel, the airport line u can extend it to the south east all the way to the koo wee rup, as there is plans to build the airport in 2017. so this would be a future proof for the airport line and allowing for the Wyndham trains to be fully electrified as a suburban line

this isn’t a bad idea
