Update on tiles that looked patchy for anyone that is interested. I have a high moisture reading behind tiles so seems like the ready mix tile adhesive Bal Whitestar is likely not fully dried.
Tool in image is a protimeter which is to check surfaces for moisture. Reading here is saturated. No pipework or leak behind or metal to give false reading. Likely just needs a long time to dry.
