How are international students expected to perform with domestics?

For context: I'm studying Industrial Design - Chinese-taught) at SJTU starting in 2026.

I'm guessing I'll share classes with domestic students, and that it'll mostly be domestic students in my classes? If this is wrong, please interrupt and tell me.

But my main questions are;

  1. are international students expected to work and study the same way as domestic students, in terms of commitment, style, and attitude?

  2. are international students expected to work at the same level as domestic students?

Obviously people will know that I'm different, I've been in the UK for the last 14 years of my life! But in terms of my academics, will I be expected to act and achieve just like a domestic? And if not, how is it different?
