Anyone else dissapointed by the SSTB cassette?
I recently purchased a 23 year old car and it has a cassette player. I thought it'd be neat to have a cassette living in the car as my dad used to have when I was growing up.
After some deliberation I sourced a copy of the SSTB cassette and well... It just seems flimsy and the sound quality isn't great. I'm old enough to have used cassettes and even the blank cassettes you'd buy at the store to record things on seemed of better quality.
The sound is thin and doesn't scale up well with additional volume. I thought I had been misremembering how cassettes sound so I got one of my dad's old mixtapes and it clearly sounds better eventhough it's not an original.
EDIT: I got the version that was available with the 20th anniversary edition, 2023 I think.
