Hey everyone!

Some of you may recognize this. It's my Warmoth WGD Tiger replica that I've posted here before. A few folks have asked to hear a while ago, and now you'll get the chance! My band is playing MusikFest in PA on August 3rd, so come check us out if you're in the area then.

Before the show, though, I'd love some input on my rig setup. Fair warning: I'm working with a budget, so this isn't a full Jerry recreation by any means, but I'm trying to get as close as I possibly can.

Jerry's real rig was a modified Twin Reverb into a McIntosh solid-state power amp, which is almost impossible to get without spending thousands of dollars on. What I'm working with instead, is my Marshall DSL40CR (tube preamp, FX send) running into my 1989 Crate G60 GT (power amp via line in)

I've already tested this signal chain and it gets a decent Jerry-ish tone, but of course it's not a Twin Reverb. But, with the EQ dialed in and the mid-scoop switch engaged, it gets surprisingly close. I'm curious if anyone has thoughts on squeezing more out of this pairing.

Jerry's cabs also ran JBL speakers, which are pricey since they are rare to find and have been discontinued for years. However, doing research I came across Weber California 12" ceramic speakers with aluminum dust caps as a budget alternative.

Has anyone tried these as a JBL substitute? Given the guitar and this amp setup, do you think they'd get me in the ballpark jerry tone range?

One more thing. A real Hard Truckers cab (or even a replica) isn't in the budget right now. I found a DIY option through a company called Parts Express. It's made of Baltic birch, ½" thickness, available in open, partially open, or closed back configurations depending on the build. I know it's not a Hard Truckers, but structurally it seems like a reasonable starting point. Has anyone built or heard one? Would you go open or closed back for this application?

Appreciate any advice, thanks in advance!
