Shanxi Lightchain Update

Hi, I recently found the website of Sxosi which is the brand for optical disc drives run by Shanxi Lightchain. I hired an interpreter to call the customer service line. This information is from talking to just one person in the sales department so there could be a couple of inaccuracies, but if you speak Mandarin you could call and double check this yourself.

The good news is the Pioneer factory is still there and operational. They have production lines for every drive listed on the website. They are running an open factory with any production based on demand. The number to initially open a production line is 50,000 units .Which lines up with Asmcom's post on the forums. It was unclear if a subsequent order from the same production line has to be 50k too.

When asked if they had produced any orders for the disc drives in the past year and they said in their own words have "many clients" so as a guess at minimum probably at least a few 50k production runs. Sxosi don't keep any inventory and the buyers sell the drives themselves. So they are operating differently to Pioneer in that way.

They wouldn't tell me who the buyers were or where the drives could be bought at retail. Also wasn't able to get what drives they had produced although they said they hadn't done a run of the BDR-X16C-X (Pioneer BDR-X13E-X) which was a model I inquired about.

I emailed them later for a more formal response and so it would get to the exact right person. Asked in the email if they had a distributor in my country or if there was anywhere the drives could be bought at retail in China but didn’t get a reply.
