ELI5: Why are skyscrapers built to sway several feet in the wind on purpose instead of being built as rigid as possible?

You would think engineers want a tall building to move as little as possible, but supertall buildings are actually designed to bend and sway in high wind, sometimes several feet at the top. Some of them even have a massive weight installed near the top just to control that motion. What is actually happening structurally that makes flexibility work better than rigidity once a building gets that tall?

Need Help Result Still Not Declared

Semester results were published around 10 days ago and almost everyone I know can see theirs on CUIMS, but mine still just shows "Result Not Declared." I've already raised queries on CUIMS and emailed the university student care, but haven't received any response. I'm also not on campus right now since semester break is going on, so visiting in person isn't really an option. At this point I'm not sure what else I can do. Does anyone know who I should contact or what steps I can take to get this fixed?
