Small chain ring rides?

If I ride in ERG mode, does it matter if I do a ride with the small chainring if I want to train for climbing?

I usually train with the big chainring but I am curious to mix things up.

Just wondering what others have experienced when they do TR rides with a focus on improving climbing…

I use a Wahoo Kickr as my indoor trainer in conjunction with TR.

Bike Crash 1 week before 70.3 - looking for moral support

I think I know the answer, but I’ll ask anyway. Yesterday (Monday), got in a bike crash where an e-bike ran through a red light and t-boned me while I was on my bike heading home. Only damage to the bike was the left brake which is being fixed now.

Bc of the way I landed, i ended up with a 2 CM laceration on the back of my head which required 6 staples.

CT scan in ER was good and my lower back is a little sore but due to the staples in the back of my head, there’s no way I can swim right?

Doctors already advised me no, but I just wanted to hear from fellow triathletes who may have experienced similar misfortune within one week of a 70.3.

Even if the staples were removed on Thursday, I don’t think it’s safe to swim in the river - outside of doing breast stroke with my head out of the water for the swim lol

Appreciate any moral support as I am quite bummed about this since this is my primary race of the year

Hit by e Bike today - suggestions?

Was riding in Central Park this morning 5:45 am and got plowed by an e bike over by 62nd street and 2nd avenue at 7:30 am.

The e bike rider rode off without stopping to check on me (speaks to their character). I had the right of way to cross the intersection but the e-bike came out of nowhere and hit the front part of my bike damaging my left brake. Apparently the e bike was not in the bike lane and ran the red light at what imagine was over 20 MPH if I had to guess

Went to ER and got a cat scan but got 7 staples from a laceration to back of my head. A little sore in my lower back but miraculously everything else is ok.

Is it worth filing a police report? Still at the ER and police still have yet to show up to the ER.

Appreciate any suggestions…

Stay off your phones while riding

In particular to those who are cycling over the Queensboro bridge…

There’s no need to be looking at your phone when going down a descent or in general while riding - especially after what happened on 5/28 on the bike path.

Be better.
