What’s your preferred way to transfer files between Android and PC without USB?

I’ve been working on a small Android app called WebDrive because I wanted an easier way to move and manage files between my phone and PC without using a USB cable.

It runs a local server on the phone, and you can open your phone’s storage directly from a browser on the PC.

You can upload/download files, manage folders, preview media, and even sync the clipboard between Android and PC.

I’m curious what everyone here currently uses for this. Do you use USB, LocalSend, KDE Connect, cloud storage, or something else?

I’m also interested in what you think the current solutions are missing.

I turned my phone into a wireless local drive for my PC

Built an Android app that lets you open your phone in any browser and manage files over WiFi.

No cloud. No account. No desktop app. No USB cable.

You can:

  • transfer files
  • stream photos/videos
  • rename/delete/manage folders
  • access everything from a desktop-style dashboard

Trying to see if this is genuinely useful or just something I wanted myself 😅
