So here we are, just finished up week 14. This is the 4th time I finished with the 2nd most points scored for the week, and I still lost the match. I have the 2nd most points scored in the league, and I'm tied for 7th place. One of the teams tied for 1st place is 7th in the league in total points scored. I think it's too dependent on the match-up, which is total luck of the draw. In my hockey league last year, we played a 2nd match each week against the league average because of this, so at least the losing team would get a win against the league. The problem with that is the teams at the bottom got demoralized quickly because the losses were adding up quick, at 2 per week. So what's the fix here? Eliminate the H2H and just go with total points? Switch to roto league? This is getting very frustrating.
