I never got why the moon had so many fish, both in gameplay and in the background. Then yesterday I remembered Madeline describing her depression as being trapped at the bottom of the ocean with no way out. Farewell is about the depressive state Madeline is in caused by granny’s death, which is why it’s filled with fish like an ocean
