Question about patron-facing Sirsi catalog

I'm a retired librarian, but I wasn't a cataloger and never worked with Sirsi. I don't want to be a PITA patron at my local library, so I'm asking about this here.

The default catalog for my library system doesn't show the page count for books, even in the "more information about" drop down. It's annoying the heck out of me.

They do offer a link for the "legacy catalog," which uses a more traditional-looking MARC kind of record, including the page count, ISBN, etc.

I can see my account and make lists of items in the legacy catalog, just like in the modern looking one. However, the lists I made in the newer catalog don't show up in the legacy catalog. So I'm not sure what the relationship is between the two catalogs.

Is there apt to be a problem if I just start using the legacy catalog? Is it apt to disappear at some point due to upgrades or contracts? I'd hate to move my lists to the legacy catalog and then have it go away.

Radio shows that became movies?

I've been watching a lot of old movies, and several of them turned out to be based on radio programs. (This was noted in the opening credits.) There's a whole series of Crime Doctor movies, starring Warner Baxter. Then there are four Big Town movies, which also made the transition to tv under various names.

I've enjoyed all of the movies I've watched so far, so I had to see if the radio shows were available anywhere. Turns out Edgar G Robinson and Clair Trevor were in a lot of the Big Town episodes! I just listened to one via a podcast someone has set up. There only seem to be four episodes of Crime Doctor, on Internet Archive.

So my question is, can anyone else think of radio shows that were turned into movies, rather than tv shows? I'm finding it really fun to both watch and listen to the same characters.

Any scissor recommendations?

Does anyone have a favorite brand or model of scissors for cutting plastic canvas?

I'm getting ready to try doing this. I have arthritis in my index finger, and my hand strength isn't the greatest. I need to get some new scissors anyway, so I'd like to get a pair of scissors designed for projects like this, so I'm not struggling.

I actually asked Gemini AI, and the AI within Amazon, and keep coming up with different suggestions. I thought I'd ask some real people. ;)

It looks looks like there's a line of heavy duty carbotitanium bonded scissors from Westcott, but when I looked on their website, there were a bunch that looked almost the same, with slightly different model numbers.

Then there are different suggestions for microtip or embroidery scissors to cut small details. It even suggested nail clippers at one point.

Thanks for any ideas!

Could I stitch this onto an existing pillow? Other display ideas?

I'm new to this, so bear with me! I have my eye on a kit that looks cute for Halloween, but it's just designed as a mat, or I guess a wall hanging. It's 12 inches square. I don't know where I'd put it, as a mat.

Not sure if it's ok to post a link -- it's on Amazon as "Cartoon Black Yellow Cat Latch Hook Rug Kit for Kids Beginner Easy Little Mat." If it's ok, I can add the link.

There's a fabric binding already on the edge, and they show it finished with yarn sewn over the binding. Could I just hand sew it onto a purchased black 12 inch throw pillow? I've seen cushion backing kits on Amazon that have zippers in them, but they look more complicated than just sewing directly onto a pillow. Also, I'd still have to buy the pillow insert.

Or if I wanted to hang it, or back it somehow to stand up on a shelf, what would be the simplest way?

Thanks!

Looking for help! I'm trying to figure out if this is a change in the iPad app, or from an ios update, and whether there's a setting I can use to change it back.

I usually use the iPad app and Bose bluetooth earbuds. I pay for Premium. I turn off the earbuds if I have to stop quickly and do something else, and that stops the video. It used to be when I reopened the app, I had time to turn on the earbuds and decide whether I wanted to start that same video again or pick something else. I would have to press the play arrow before it started playing anything.

Now as soon as I open the app again, it will start playing where I left off, out loud if I don't have the earbuds on yet. It's annoying if my husband's trying to watch tv or something.

And if I don't react fast enough, I have a hard time going back and finding the spot where I left off last time. (It's been confusing trying to figure out what's going on. Several times I have just sat there thinking WTH instead of listening to the video, and then had to go back. Sometimes I've gone back way too far because I thought maybe the video had never stopped playing.)

It's a PITA. Any tips would be welcome.
