Using Bambu AMS TPU

Using Bambu AMS TPU

It’s been out for a while now, how is the Bambu TPU four AMS working in the AMS? I have a P1S with AMS and want to make sure it will really work? I don’t have a dryer; will fresh roll be ok? Are users out there having pretty good success with it and is it still relatively flexible? I bought a roll for my grandson and we’re hesitant to try it in the AMS just yet. What’s the real world experience been with this product? Thanks.

Adding threaded connectors

Has anyone been successful in using bambou studio to create the threads on something like a jar? When I use the cut tool and set it for threads and use the dimensions of my drawing, it does not create any threads. I’ve tried Google search and every suggestion fails. It simply tells me that the software is broken. Is that the case? I’m on version two point2.7.1.6.2, the current version for my MAC. I don’t understand why it simply does not work. I’ve watched the tutorial videos that show how to create a jar lid with threads when using a primitive, that didn’t work. I designed a cylinder with FreeCAD and imported it, that didn’t work. I tried it as an STL file, that didn’t work. Any suggestions and has anyone made this work? It’s a lot of work to design a thread, using FreeCAD and everything says that bamboo will do this easily, but I can’t find any way to make that happen. Thanks.

Voids/holes where support trees were removed.

I printed a design I created on FreeCad; print came out fine for the most part. Using. P1S, yellow Matte PLA with stock Bambu settings from the slicer. On the underside of the handle, removing the trees showed voids or holes in just that area. I know I can change the settings to correct this using a modifier cylinder around that area. What settings can I change around the handle to prevent this? Speed, infill, or ?????? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

extruded or padded patern around a tapered bowel

I'm trying to create an extruded pattern around a tapered bowl. Using V1.1 and Part Design workbench, I drew a circle with an 80mm diameter and padded it in reverse direction 40mm with a taper pattern of -10 degrees. Next, I used the thickness tool to hollow out the bowl with a thickness of 3mm. I selected the top edge of the bowel and started a new sketch. I drew a circle hanging over the edge and angled it 10 degrees to match the pad taper. I used the pocket tool to make a pattern from top to bottom. Easy so far. I can't seem to figure out how to repeat this around the entire bowl. I thought using polar pattern would work (I've used it on non-tapered pad's successfully before) but this seems to have no effect. I've tried Google AI and it's given me all sorts of solutions; none of them worked in the least. What am I missing here? I would think this should be an easy task but it is turning out to be very difficult. Any direction as to how to add this type of a pattern (or a padded pattern) around a tapered surface like this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

join mirrored halves to create closed wire

I know this is fundamentally easy but I can't solve it. Google search gave solution but it did not work. I drew one side of a shield with the spline tool in part design to create a sketch. I want to mirror and connect into a closed wire to pad. Easy right? I just can't seem to figure out how to do it. I can create a mirror but can't join the two halves together into one sketch. What am I missing? I know MangoJelly has explained this but I can't find the video for the tutorial. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm using 1.1 on a mac. Thanks.

Preview with space bar missing from Tahoe

I installed 1.1, on my new Mac and understand that the space bar preview has been taken out by Apple. Seems there is a download from Freecad Companion (GitHub) that will fix this issue but I can’t figure which download to select or where to specifically find it. Can anyone point me to the proper download link? Not having that quick preview is really difficult when sorting through multiple files to work on the correct one. Thanks.
