iPad 9th gen extremely laggy after iPadOS 26 update

I bought the iPad just under a year ago from the Apple Store, it was working perfectly fine. But 3 weeks ago I updated it from iPadOS 18 to 26, and it’s suddenly become extremely laggy.

It has 200GB worth of space left, so there is no reason for it to be laggy due to storage. I waited the break in period and nothing changed.

The lagging is extremely bad, especially for such simple use (I mostly use the books app, files app, YouTube and Goodnotes).

Im really frustrated, I use the iPad for studying and reading. I spent my hard earned money on it and I don’t have money for a new one, not even close. Is anyone experiencing similar issues? Is my iPad done for?

Is this normal for small birds? I’m worried that I shouldn’t haven left it.

I saw this bird struggling to fly and it began swaying side to side. It didn’t fly from me either. But I left for a few seconds, and when I came back it was gone.

Is this normal or should I be worried?
