Bernedoodle refusing meals and vomiting bile, but vet tests came back normal. What could we be missing?
My dog hasn’t been doing too well these past few days. He’s been avoiding meals, throwing up bile, and we’ve had back-to-back vet visits because of it.
We had blood work and X-rays done, and thankfully everything came back normal. The vet thinks his body may just need a “reset,” so he received a nausea injection, IV fluids, and a few medications. We’re currently monitoring him, but he’s still resisting food.
He’s a 2-year-old Bernedoodle and weighs about 56 lbs. Over the last couple of weeks, he’s gradually become pickier with meals and recently started skipping more food altogether. His stools are normal, and there haven’t been any recent changes to his food, routine, environment, or anything else that we can think of.
Has anyone dealt with something similar? If blood work and X-rays are normal but the food avoidance continues, what ended up being the cause for your dog? Anything specific we should ask our vet about as a longer-term solution?
