TUHH + Computer Science = Jobs? 👀 Tell me the truth before I pack my bags to Germany

Hey everyone!

I'm an international student from India, and TUHH is one of my top choices for an M.Sc. in Computer Science.

Now, the million-euro question... 💶

Do international students actually get software jobs in and around Hamburg, or do we all end up surviving on coffee and hope? 😅

I'd love to hear from people who studied at TUHH (or any university in Hamburg).

A few things I'm curious about:

How's the software/IT job market in Hamburg?

Is getting internships or working student jobs realistic?

After graduation, how hard is it to land a full-time software engineering job?

How important is German? Can English-only graduates still find decent opportunities?

Did you stay in Hamburg, or did you move to another city for work?

Please share your honest experiences—the good, the bad, and the "I sent 300 applications" stories. 😄

I'm trying to figure out whether I'll be writing code after graduation... or just refreshing LinkedIn every five minutes. 😂

Thanks in advance!

SDET / QA Engineer with Selenium Java, Playwright JavaScript, Angular, and React experience — open to opportunities

Hi Reddit,

I’m an SDET / QA Engineer with 2 years of experience at Accenture since August 2024, and my main superpower is Playwright JavaScript. I also work with Selenium when needed, but Playwright is where I spend most of my time making sure apps behave before users get the chance to panic.

I’ve handled complex Angular and canvas-heavy applications, so I’m pretty used to UI elements that like to disappear, reappear, or act like they were never there in the first place. I’ve also worked around React and Angular from the testing side, which means I can read code, debug issues, and understand frontend chaos without completely losing faith in humanity.

Now I’m looking for developer opportunities, because after enough testing, I’ve started feeling like the code and I are in a committed relationship. At this point, I know what breaks, why it breaks, and how to politely ask it to stop.

If your team is hiring, feel free to message me. I can share my resume by DM, and I promise to bring both bug-hunting skills and a decent sense of humor.

Anyone here admitted to TUHH after getting "Valid" application status?

Hi everyone,

I'm an international applicant for a Master's program at TUHH.

My application status has changed to "Valid", and I understand that the admission decision will now be made after the manual academic evaluation.

If you've studied at TUHH or have already gone through this process, I'd really appreciate your help.

- How long did it take to receive your final decision after the status became "Valid"?

- Were you eventually admitted or rejected?

- Does getting a "Valid" status mean you have a good chance of admission, or does it simply mean your documents passed the initial check?

- How competitive is the manual evaluation stage for international applicants?

I'd love to hear about your experience, especially if you applied for Computer Science or another engineering-related Master's program.

Thanks in advance!
