Vermilion Martial God - Combat thoughts

I know it's slightly too early to say anything definitive about VMG, and I'm definitely open to hear more about other combat main's opinions on him. I wanted to gather some of my thoughts so far after playing too much with him, while trying not to show my bias as a Raf main.

One thing I will say, VMG is not weak. If you're skipping VMG and you own LSG, you're not missing out too much. Or if you own KoD, I think you are still good with KoD as your red-stella main.

Pros:

+ Fun companion to play with interesting mechanics, I love the Rafayel gameplay 😭

+ Extremely strong for stellamatching weakness builds

+ Some might find this as a con, I see it as a positive, it didn't shelf LSG

+ Helped me gain 9 more stars in FOO (162 -> 171)

Cons:

- Suppression weakness mechanic feels wonky for mob stages (though maybe this is too early to say)

- I. hate. the. claymore. (though it being semi-ranged is cool)

- Crit build seems to be barely on par or weaker than LSG's crit builds

- Feels much more single target than LSG

- Mistakes seem to be much more punishing than with LSG in addition (imo) being harder to overall play than LSG

- Weird choices with the kit

- Seems to die easier than LSG (there are several reasons for this)

Overall, I would say VMG is solid addition with LSG, it might not completely replace LSG, especially in yellow matching stages. If I had to suggest one over the other, I'd say both have their good sides, but I would give my vote to LSG.

If I had to give one stage where to use him, it would be stellamatching boss stage. You have plenty of time to setup your Suppression weakness state, which needs slightly intentional playing with VMG. But once you get the hang of it, it's quite pleasant.

Mob stages feel slightly awkward with him, since you have to completely forget resonating until you have set up the double Suppression stack to the enemies. Some might not get them both either. What with FOO stages I tried with him, I did manage get better results than with LSG, and stellamatching with the green 4* pair was completely valid option even in the higher level stages. Once we get the second part of the blue pair, I'm really curious to give a shot at 59 with both LSG and VMG.

Speaking of FOO59 which was a nightmare for me, I tried my R2 VMG there with a crit build and I feel safe to say that the no-resonate brute force gameplay seems worse than (R2) LSG. With LSG it's quite luck and skill based, but with VMG being dependant on cooldowns for the Mortal Soul state, it just felt less flowing than with LSG. Not to mention, the Suppression Weakness mechanic goes almost completely to waste. I don't know if there would be an alternative world with weakness and brute force for VMG.

Overall gameplay

The good

I already mentioned that I love playing as Raf, I would be in that state forever if it was feasible, but alas. I love high-speed gameplay, but the damage bonus from the sync passive skill won't apply after the Vermilion Visage bar is depleted, so you just won't deal as much damage anymore.

If you get the rotation correctly and going well, the weakness states just seem to melt with him.

The bad

I am a slight masochist and I actually liked Hunter's Claymore gameplay when I had to do it, and no myth claymore gameplay has been as satisfying to me since. And unfortunately, I think VMG claymore is the worst claymore gameplay I have played. Edit: I went in to try the claymore without enemies in the Shield Breaking room, and I noticed you can dodge between the charged attacks. I put the rest of what I wrote in brackets, but it doesn't seem as bad as I thought, and just needs some readjusting. (The mechanic how MC can apply the Suppression Weakness stack is just atrocious. You have to successfully chain 3 charged attacks in a row, which is just ridiculously difficult when you're playing against an enemy that is trying to kill you. You basically can't dodge, and you have to hope that you won't get staggered or interrupted by Rafayel's armor break animation (R1+) or you have to start the chain again. The chain feels really slow to me, and quite difficult to distinguish at this point where and how long you have to press the attack button down. I'm sure that will be better once I take the time and actually practise that alone.)

But I can't stop wondering why they didn't just add the Suppression Stack mechanic to the Empowered Action skill? Since you have to do 3 charged attacks for it, they just don't have to be the actual chain. The second one that really baffles me is that there seemingly isn't any mechanic to Perfect dodge. As someone who has mastered Perfect dodge to come from the depths of my muscle memory, it's just odd to me that there's NOTHING as exchange for doing a perfect dodge. Again, I just personally can't see why Rafayel's Suppression Weakness stacking couldn't be with a Perfect dodge. Since it's capping at 2 either way, it just feels odd to me that it's so complicated to get ( Action skill -> 3 charged attacks -> empowered action skill -> empowered support skill).

In addition to all this, since there's a lot of mechanics relying on getting those 3 charged attacks with MC, it just feels really punishing when you can't get them. And I do way too often still forget to resonate before entering Martial Soul since there's no rhytm there. I'm getting better at it.

Also, it feels less AoE than LSG. Quite often when I'm playing with LSG, I just can take the target to the strogest enemy and the others just die in the process. But with VMG, I feel more often there's weak stragglers in the distance that barely have taken damage at all.

As I mentioned, VMG seems to die much more easily than LSG. Well, I don't think it's a fair comparison since LSG is a ranged companion with DEF scaling, so usually Rafayel himself isn't in danger to die (actually, I realised I never had him die on my main account when I heard him dying the first time on my 1lvl cards account), and with MC you're dodging and dashing through enemies all the time. But with VMG, when you exit the Martial Soul, Rafayel keeps his HP and if you take too much hits as him during Martial Soul, he can die easily after that. He of course regens his HP when you enter Martial Soul again, but it's something you need to pay attention to.

Balance compared to LSG

As I mentioned, there's clearly intention to not overshadow LSG and I actually like that. I was quite sad when I got GoT on his rerun, and after 2 months of playing with him, I had to already shelf him. So I feel positive about the powercreep that it's not that bad that I thought it could be.

I hope the companions in the future have some clear thing they actually excel at, and that you could have a roster of companions to play, instead of having just one that dominates everywhere.

Overall I feel like VMG is in same power level as LSG, if not slightly better. However, I feel LSG will shine better for crit builds and with MS pair bonuses. So if you were worried about VMG completely overshadowing LSG, that didn't happen. I get why people might be disappointed that it didn't, I'm glad it didn't.

So as I said, if you have LSG and feel like you don't want to pull for VMG, I don't think you're missing out too much. The 9 stars I got from FOO were from getting better stellamatching companion, which helped me with those stages that I had to brute force to actually stellamatching be a proper option.

I hope I'm clear with that VMG is actually a good companion, but not an unskippable one. If LSG is an S+ tier companion, VMG would be an S++ for weakness, S- or S for brute force. It still deals good damage, but when I have to choose, I'll choose LSG over VMG for brute force. Of course I don't what the comparison would be at R3.

My thoughts on Suppression Weakness

Aside from VMG's mechanics, since it might be a new thing that is a mechanic for all the 4th myths or some of them, it's an interesting mechanic. Of course these points are just from experiencing the mechanic with VMG and I think there's just two problems with it:

  1. There is no explanation in game what the stacks do and how much more Suppression adds to weakness damage. It feels very vague, like DEF shredding or other debuffs in this game because we can't see enemy stats. We need more info about this mechanic.
  2. It feels janky/awkward for mob stages. It needs enemies to be not weakened to apply Suppression to them, so you're bit in like... Do you resonate to weaken the enemies to deal damage to them? Or do you try add suppression to get some amount more damage to them later? So far what I tested, it's a little inconclusive, but I haven't tested it thoroughly.

It's interesting either way, it spices the gameplay a bit, possibly turning the non-existent meta to truly prefer stellamatching over brute force.

Pull or no pull?

Honestly, given the current circumstances (the Valko situation and overall combat state of the game), I'll say it's a no pull. Not because it's necessarily bad, but compared to LSG, it feels more situational. If you enjoy VMG's theme, visuals and story, you won't regret it.

But given we haven't gotten any true new combat modes or something to use these new myths to other than 30 orbit levels and a new SHC team branch that will be catered to VMG, it's hard to justify suggesting to pull for it. If you're not a Rafayel main, your diamonds are better used on your mains who will get their myths soon (except Caleb). I don't have regrets pulling it and I'm excited to use him alongside LSG.

And it being red, which is Rafayel's 4th color, it's not necessarily a beginner friendly myth. It will help a lot, especially if you don't have LSG, but it will take some time until you get to enjoy his MA pair in a while properly. I got to see the first levels above Fire Orbit 210 and those clearly ask that you have the pair. The only free 5* card that is red for Rafayel is Rising Tides, which you need to buy from Wishing Well. This means to R3 it, you need total of 720 wishing well shards for it. And his options for free red 4* cards are bad as he only has 2 standard pool lunar reds and 1 red lunar in Galaxy Explorer, which means if you want to actually match red with Rafayel, you'll need limited cards to help with that. So for example, Xavier (with KoD) or Zayne (with MoF pair and GoA myth) has better and cheaper options to match red than VMG. And since they might get the same Suppression mechanic, it might be better to do red-stellamatching with them than VMG thanks to their better options for red cards.

The protocores you get from pull rewards are just a trap to sink in more pulls for them. Don't fall for it. They are fine if you truly don't have anything better for them. but for me who's been farming protocores for long and have a really good stash, I already got better ones.

As for the myth itself, I don't get the complaints against it. Even though I feel like I was a bit negative writing this post, I still want to say I have enjoyed playing it, the story feels true to his character and I love to have fully fire-dedicated myth for him. I really enjoyed reading through it and I have had a new spark for the combat in this game.

---

Since I used a lot of acronyms, here's a quick list:

VMG = Vermilion Martial God (Raf's 4th myth)
LSG = Lemurian Sea God (Raf's 3rd myth)
GoT = God of Tides (Raf's 2nd myth)
FOO = Fluctulant Open Orbit (the more difficult open orbit)
KoD = King of Deathknight (Xavier's 3rd myth, previous red myth)
MoF = Master of Fate (Zayne's 2nd myth)
GoA = God of Annihiliation (Zayne's 3rd myth)
R0, R1, R2, R3 = the card rank (the more ranks, stronger they are)
AoE = Area of effect
MC = Main Character

If you're someone who's trying to skip, stay strong! If you regret skipping it, you can get it from the rerun in a year.

And I want to make it clear, these are just my thoughts, I don't claim to be a combat overlord, just someone who has been passionate about the combat in this game. I'm definitely looking out for other combat player's opinions, since it's still a new myth and we don't know yet if there's any hidden mechanics that aren't obvious.

TL;DR: New myth good, doesn't fully replace LSG if you have it. Skippable if you are on the edge whether or not to pull.

100% Rafayel memory collection! Pull statistics + Is doing 100% collection worth it?

Finally since I got Private Trip, I got Rafayel's 100% collection! I used to make some irregular statistics from the pulls, so I hope this is interesting and gives some kind of direction if you plan to go for 100% collection, and I'll just share some of my point of view if it's worth it or not.

About my stats

Spreadsheet here if you want to read it yourself, I have some notes there too.

I started this early on 2025 because I felt my luck was getting worse with this game. I didn't have Omnipotent Perception in my history anymore, but I'm sure I got the crate from it since I was debating if I should take Sylus's card or Rafayel R1 from it. I had a break from taking the stats late last year, which made me lose history on Ignited Echoes too, but I remember it clearly since I took the R2 from the crate. This is why there's a data difference between all pulls and the average pulls, since OP and IE aren't included in the average.

I estimate that I had to make around 200-260 pulls for R0 OP and IE, so it's rounding to 1800 total pulls. Excess pulls are more accurate with around +1200 pulls for rank ups and pull rewards then.

Early I tried to calculate my pity, but I gave up on that, then I have only marked it if I remembered to do it. It isn't really showing anything else than if there was much events in between pulling.

My pulling strategy is quite simple:

  • Solos, only R0
  • Multi, R1 if I like the R1 outfit, R0 otherwise (preferably to the 75 outfit crate)
  • Bad luck multi while going R1 - If I'm like at 180 pulls, I'll take the crate

Overall, I feel my 50/50 (25/75) win-lose ratio is on the unluckier side, but it's offset with getting earlier pulls. My recent luck (discounting Private Trip) has been quite good, but before this year, I was genuinely surprised if Rafayel decided to come at the first opportunity, because often, it wasn't the case.

Homewreckers

I also marked my loss cards which I could see in the history, and by a small margin, crown Zayne and Sylus as the homewreckers. I was quite surprised to see how even it was, since I always felt early on Xavier always wanted to come home, then after being for a long time shy, Sylus started to peek his head with Zayne. Caleb also was quite shy at the beginning.

All Caleb's limited cards are actually unlikely accidents to me, since I don't think I have ever picked him to my multi selected 3 (because I used to have a separate Caleb account). Both Loneroad Together and No-Return Night have come just from using the free pulls to lower the pity.

And I have some regrets that comes to pulling. I regret pulling in Silvery Polypheny for the pose (which is why I never pull for anyone else anymore for the poses, this is not in the statistics because it's not a Rafayel card) and then I also really regret that I spend around 20 pulls to get the crate for Zayne's card in Catch-22. I just feel I would have gotten more out of it if I just R2'd Extreme Dose, which is why I only use the 200 pull crate to Rafayel if I get it.

Memorable pulls

I know this probably isn't interesting to anyone else, so feel to skip to the talk about 100% collection.

Misty Invasion (Omnipotent Perception)

My first banner. Of course it's memorable, but also, had a classic noob's problem. I put Xavier in my precise wish because I thought I liked him, but then Rafayel just swept me off my feet. I was crying and panicking, trying to get all my pulls for Rafayel after I got Xavier's card from the Precise wish, and of course I lost to Zayne in between (quite fast thankfully). I think I went for the crate in the end since I got enough pulls to get it eventually, and went for the dark bathrobe for Rafayel.

Unforgettable Adventure... Sure is unforgettable

I'm so emotional over how the pulls for Unforgettable Adventure went. After Boundless Seas took over 90 pulls, I dropped 110 pulls to UA, and I was getting well below 10k diamonds. I was crying that I won't be able to get GoT anymore, so I had to call it quits there to save the guarantee to GoT.

This year, of course Rafayel wasn't going to let me have it easy, and wanted to suck up 94 more pulls for it. This is a good reminder that there isn't a crate for solo/birthday banners, so you really would need to commit pulling them.

LSG

I have to admit, I was stupidly lucky with LSG. I got so many 5* in short time, and winning 50/50 quite often (which if you look at my stats at that time, it was RARE). I don't think 250 pulls for R2 is in any way actually reasonable goal, and I'm willing to forgive Rafayel everything 😭😅

Recent luck... and then Private Trip happened

I don't know what happened with my luck this year. I have only needed to go to +100 pulls only twice, and I also got my first double 5* limited pull. Very early pities. I am very grateful, since it's been such a great chance of pace from last year were I quite much had to always go for +100 pulls per banner.

.... Then today happened. Rafayel decided that this all was too easy for me recently, and went out and set a new record pull amount for a R0 card in the same event 😭😭😭

Overall, luck is luck. Sometimes it's nice, sometimes it will go out of it's way to make you miserable.

Is 100% collection worth it?

Simply put - no.

I am still questioning if this was the smart move to make, and I just have had to accept it's not, but I'm willing to do it because I love this game and Rafayel so much. This doesn't mean that I am better than any other Rafayel main or LADS player, it's just something that emotionally I have accepted. There probably would have been a few cards I would have skipped (especially from the reruns) if I hadn't set out to do this. At some points I just legit have thought to myself I'm in too deep to stop, which isn't true of course. But the fact is, most of these cards I would have gotten either way, so getting a 100% collection wasn't too much far off for me.

Would I recommend it?

No, and I hope this post does de-influence people who might be considering it, or very least, give some food for thought.

It's technically a trap. Now I'm upkeeping the 100% collection, meaning if I miss out on a single card, even if I didn't like it, the collection is "ruined". Don't make it much harder on yourself than it needs to be, just skip the cards you might not want, and save for the ones that you really want. It's an emotional trap that you're going to walk into if you aren't preparing yourself for it. What happens if you lose interest in the LI? What if you lose interest in the game? Prepare yourself to be mentally aware that you might always carry a sense of duty to collect all of them and it's quite restricting in a way. The emotional struggle is kind of surprising, even to me.

Another reason why I want to de-influence you is Promise cards. It's a literal paywall for the collection, you need to put the very least 20-30 euros/USD per year to your main just to upkeep it. Not to mention the reruns are absolutely horrible. If I had missed more than one card, I would have given up on having the collection, because 10 euros for R0 4* card is too much. It's stupidly expensive, and I'm getting upset just thinking about it 😭 One. 4* card. R0! CARD!

So I genuinely hope this really wakes anyone up who might want to get a 100% collection. Yes, it's nice to have all the cards, but I have to admit, I do have small regrets. Maybe it's just the blues from not really having a goal to this game. But, if you still want to do it...

Some tips if you are crazy enough to do it still:

  • For solo cards, you need to commit 100% to getting them during the event if you're going to wish for it. Don't make X amount wishes and then think to yourself you'll get it on the rerun later. You'll just lose out on the wishes, because there is no pull reward crate to guarantee your card like multis or myths have. You're fully on mercy of your rerun pity and guarantees. Learn from my mistakes.
  • If you're tight on diamonds or are going for 100% F2P collection minus promise, stick to just getting R0 of the card. Don't pull for the sake of pull rewards, because that's how they get you pulling more than you intended.
  • Birthday cards are the best place to skip to save since they rerun yearly (up to 3 years for now)
  • Easiest time to start right now is for Valko. Second is Caleb, with his reruns starting likely late this year or next year, you'll have time to save up for those. Sylus is about to get his reruns soon, which means you'll have less time to save to get those cards that you're missing. Starting now for OG3 is a looooong game, since they had their early reruns now, and we don't know when those will rerun again.
  • If you're up for having an alt account, making another account for a new guy might be smart. This 100% depends on if you're going to pay for Promise on that account, or if you're doing Promise-less 100% collection, or if you're fine for getting same cards on several accounts. I wouldn't recommend it as a blanket statement, as it's double the work with the game.

I hope this was interesting and gave some food for thought to the people who are considering getting Valko's collection to 100%! It's a commitment, and it can get emotional. Prepare yourself for the emotional struggle with it. I'll try to remember update my statistics on my private version of this document, and maybe share it at some points again to see how much the statistics change.

I finished gardening on 3 accounts

Some of you might remember my post last month, and I promised to show the statistics when I'm done with gardening.

Here's the link for full breakdown by each variety , I'm only counting the purple and rarest blooms because they are more often than not the result of hybridization, especially if you follow my tips from the original post.

I started to do this project around the same time for each account, so considering one of them took significantly longer than the others is very good showing how much luck has play in this.

For my main account and alt account 2, the percentage of getting a duplicate seed was around 40-42%, while my alt 1 had over 50% chance. This means over half of alt 1's hybridizations resulted in a duplicate seed.

If I'm calculating it correctly, you can expect around 7-8 hybridizations to finish one variety family, which means about a weeks worth of waiting around.

My most gotten variety was Blue Astillbe, with both Main and Alt 1 getting it 6 times before I finished the family, meaning I got it total of 13 times across all accounts.

The most gotten family were Tulips, with total of 37 hybridizations going into it before finishing it on all 3 accounts.

Overall, you can expect to get all families hybridized in about 4-5 months if you're methodical about it. I feel this is very intentional timeframe from Infold, since most active people will get it in that 6 or 7 months before the next major update. So maybe there will be something new waiting us in the home there in less than a month when we possibly are getting the next big patch.

Ngl, I'm glad this is over. While I feel a bit empty with the home just going in and putting the timer for the home coins coming in, there were times where I really didn't feel like doing all the performing and thinking which bloom I need to hybridize next. I really hope there will be something new to the garden that isn't as tedious as this, but we'll see. 😅

I calculated my spending with this game (low spender/month)

I got kind of bored and I realised I haven't counted my spending in a while, so I did it. I figured maybe this will be helpful for people.

I requested my purchase history from Google Takeout and removed other purchases (not that many thankfully) and then searched different amounts in the data to see how many were there (for example, searching €5.99 gave 36 results) and counted them together. So I haven't individually checked these, but it's something along those lines.

My main bulk from purchases are the Aurum Pass and Secret Promise (around 60% of my purchases) and the cheapest packs. I have bought couple times Heartfelt Gift (both directly and separately), and the rest of them are random limited time purchases, like the event promises and such.

Just to note that if you're playing with android phone and gain Google Play points, you can turn them into Google Play money which you can use to purchase in game stuff at checkout. I think I have got like total of 5-7 euros discount with those points 🤑

I'm a fully dedicated Rafayel solo main, so I'm pretty comfortable with this spending. I have played for soon 2 years, I started when Misty Invasion started. I have almost all of his cards, missing only Private Trip until the rerun, and I still have 56k diamonds with 4 wishes. I don't wish at all for the other guys and only buy packs when I'm going to wish for Rafayel.

My tips for keeping your spending in check:

  1. Have a clear goal what you're going to spend for and stick to it. For me, my goal is to get all Rafayel's cards, get his R1 outfits from multibanners and hopefully have enough for R2 myths. You might have a certain budget you want to follow, you want all MC outfits or something else. Just plan ahead what is the important thing you want to spend your money on this game, and don't go over it.
  2. If you're not sure if you should spend money, give yourself time to think it through. More often than not, I notice myself wanting something initially and then it passes as I'm giving myself time to think if I really need something. For example the limited paid outfits have been that for me - I usually have wanted them, but after the initial excitement, I realised I don't actually need them and haven't bought them.
  3. Don't spend money just because something is a limited offer. This is also something that I need to remind myself about too. I bought the LSG MC outfit dual pack, when I really only wanted the pink one. But I got the dual one because it was a limited offer. If you're going to buy something you wouldn't buy otherwise just because it was a limited offer, it's not a good deal. You're just losing more money.
  4. Wish responsibly. Again, this will look different to everyone, but for me, since I'm a solo main, I don't wish for anyone else anymore. I don't wish for wish rewards (poses and outfits) and I don't even wish for other's myths, even if I had the other pair. My biggest regrets for pulling are related to pulling someone else than Rafayel. These will pile up eventually and can affect how much you will need to spend in the future. Maybe this will be something like only wishing for multis, or spicy cards, whatever it is, as long as you're happy with your choice.
  5. Don't make purchase decisions when you're angry/happy/emotional. Really tied to no.2, but important to reiterate. Last year I got very upset with Rafayel's birthday event, and I angrily bought packs that I couldn't use on the rerun banner. So I basically had to buy double the packs and spend a lot more than I intended to. You'll easily make bad decisions when you're not thinking clearly, so take a step back and return to it later. This also applies when you're overly happy.
  6. Don't be fooled by the .99 prices. 5.99 is 6 euros. 9.99 is 10 euros (or whatever your currency is). It's a known technique to make something seem much cheaper it is, and it works all too well.

Even if these are microtransactions, they pile up very quickly. During Lingering Lust, I bought Packs 1-2, 1 * pack 3, Secret Promise, the event Promise and Aurum pass at the same time. They aren't large sums, but it was total of 33-ish euros. But also, your spending will fluctuate based on how the events go. During May I only spent 7 euros to get Aurum Pass and 1 pack for Floral Promise.

And one thing what I would want to also say is that you don't need to feel too guilty about your spending to this game. As long as you're financially responsible with your spending, you're not going in debt, neglecting important responsibilities or anything like that, it's fine. It's always good to take a reality check, but you're also allowed to spend your money to intangible things and hobbies as well.

If you're spending too much in your opinion, it's never too late to cut it. Do small things, like buying less expensive packs, outfits or such. The guys will be there either way if you don't spend as much, or if you don't wish all their cards. You aren't any better or worse player because you spend more or less. ♥️

And as someone who is going for the 100% collection, in retrospec, it's not worth the money. If I could go back, there are couple cards I think I would have not wished from Rafayel, and definitely not pay 10 euros to get ONE 4* CARD. ONE. FOUR STAR. R0 CARD. The Promise reruns make me so angry 😭 I only bought it because it was the only Promise card I was missing, and I'm lowkey regretting it.

Other spending tips:

  • Check if your prices are different in-game and in the official Top Up Center. Depending on where you live, you might get the packs and stuff cheaper in there. For me the prices are the same because all prices around here already include the tax and fees, so I keep using the in-game for the Google Play points.
  • If you buy Heartfelt Vow, check if the Secret Promise + Upgrade to Heartfelt Vow would be cheaper for you than directly buying Heartfelt Vow. For me, Secret Promise is 10 euros + 7 euros for the upgrade, and the Heartfelt Vow is 18 euros bought directly. That's a 1 euro difference.
  • If you buy the limited packs, always buy the earlier packs first. Meaning Pack 1, Pack 2 and so on. Pack 4 during new multibanners usually gives 10 wishes for 10 euros, but you get 11 wishes from buying packs 1 and 2 for 5,5 euros. This also applies to the more expensive packs. The only exception to this is Packs 7 and 8 if I remember correctly (8 being better value than 7) and the prices haven't changed since I made my calculations 1,5 years ago 🫣
  • If you want to have a similar budget as mine,go for Aurum Pass > Secret Promise > Packs 1-2 when wishing > Annual Passes (Save 680 crystals from your Aurum pass for Diamond Pass, they are sold in the end of December). If you want more, the Event Promises (such during Lingering Gaze) and those the wish packs from those "One page goodies" where it gets incrementally more expensive up to the value that the pack 2 or 3 has (like we had during CNY and the idol banner). Aurum Gift is good value as well, and gives a good amount of stamina.

I hope this was helpful!

Hybridization tips and statistics (Gardening)

I finally got all varieties on my main account, with my other 2 alts coming right behind. I'm going to post all my stats from my gardening experiences as a spreadsheet later when they are ready.

I took these numbers from amount of planted seeds, so in reality there are more days where I still got the base blue rarity seeds (until later I figured how to avoid them).

I don't count the base seeds in these calculations.

  • Total seeds planted (rare and purple rarity): 121
  • Excess hybridizations (seeds that are duplicates): 49
  • Chance of getting a duplicate seed: 40,5%
  • Highest amount of duplicates for one variety: 6 (Blue Astilbe)
  • Average amount of seeds for one variety: 1,68
  • Median amount of seeds for one variety: 1
  • Highest amount of duplicates for entire flower family: 11 (Astilbe and Tulip)
  • No duplicates for entire flower family: 2 (Larkspur and Garden Peony, e.g. got 1 of each seed)
  • Average amount of hybridization needed for completing the family: 6,72
  • Median amount of hybridization needed for completing the family: 6

My tips for hybridization:

These are more for people who are looking to complete this collection. If you're just vibing and gardening, there's no need to follow these.

Aim for the purple rarity

The purple rarity is the hardest one to get, and I often found myself in a situation where I just need the 1 remaining purple variety and it's not coming, it's just giving duplicates. This is why I don't really recommend going for the rarest rarity unless it's the only one you are missing, since it already has a built-in guarantee system.

There's two best ways to get a purple rarity seed:

  • 2 x 3-leaf BLUE rarity bloom
  • Purple rarity and blue rarity blooms, both 2-leaf

Both of these eliminate the blue rarity chance from the results, and give the best chance for the purple rarity varities. If you need to use some other combination, look at the percentages and compare which one gives the best chance to get the variety you need. I preferred the 2 x 3-leaf blue ones.

Perform wisely

As I mentioned above, you need to pay attention which rarity seeds you're performing to make the best chances of getting a purple variety.

  • Never perform on the purple or rare varity seeds (unless you need the rare varity seed)
  • Perform on most blue rarity seeds to use them together, but you can also leave some without performing so you can use the 2-leaf purple rarities with them
  • If you are going to cap vitality, you can "waste" your vitality on the performed blooms so you don't miss out on Garden EXP.

Work with the collection list

I just eventually figured it's easier for me to go according the collection list rather than just randomly put seeds in and hope the best. I started from the Lilies, planting them and hybridizing them until the family was complete. I tried to plan ahead and plant the next variety in the meanwhile so I had them ready once the previous family was complete. And there were times when I just needed a break from a variety, and moved on to next one before I finished the annoying ones.

I tried to avoid planting too many excess seeds per variety, so I don't waste my home coins, but try to keep an eye out for the amounts you need to plant to reach garden level 10. You might need to plant more than you actually need to complete the collection, for this account I reached Garden level 10 before hitting the collection and the amount planted for it, but for my other accounts I'm only missing the task for planted amounts to reach the level 10.

Some other random tips:

  • I treated my gardening as once per day thing. I have three active accounts, so I really don't have the time to actually follow the 20-hour timing for hybridization, so it was more like +-24 hours for me, usually done at the same time when I logged in for evening stamina.
  • Check what you have planted before you make your hybridization, so you remember what you have in progress to complete, and what you're currently working on
  • If you're running low on storage in your warehouse, make cuts of the blooms on the varities you have already completed and don't need for anything else
  • I didn't see any real correlation using different variety colors for the hybridization results. I think it's just based on luck, and sometimes, you need 6 times to get that effing Blue Astilbe to finally get the Purple Astilbe 😭😭

I hope this helps, I will post my full stats once my alt accounts are done with hybridization. I'll celebrate that day because I've been so close losing my mind with this 😅😂
