What are things often overlooked in the apocalypse?

Hello everyone, I am currently starting to write my 3rd book which will be my first novel, and it's a weather-type apocalypse that not only kills humans on the spot and flares up every couple weeks, but also (over the course of several months after initial events) turns other mammals into mutated human-flesh eaters, making them a danger.

I wanted to ask, what is often overlooked in the apocalypse? Are there common plot holes that I need to avoid? As I wouldn't consider myself a professional writer (I'm literally only 16 and no books published yet), I prefer to ask from actual writers on here.

Anyway thank you for any helpful advice!

Hi everyone! I finished writing my first book on January 14, this year, after about 6 months of on and off work and I'm only 2 chapters away from finishing this one! I write psychological thrillers like novellas and my first one was 116 pages, 26k words, about a horse and a deer who are friends until a mysterious entity begins manipulating the horse (the title is Herbivore) and I'm so proud of myself for that, and now I'm about to finish my second book which is super exciting! It's called The Shameful Slipknot and its a story told from the perspective of a murderer and how he navigates life, what his purpose is, and stuff like that and I'm getting so close to writing the plot twist for it so that's super exciting and I'm currently in the process of trying to get Herbivore published so hopefully that goes well!

I'm also even planning to start writing for my novel plan, which is an apocalypse and dystopian story which I may split into 2 books! I've already done so much planning so that's super exciting too, and lastly I could have literally never imagined that I would've already wrote a whole book and almost finished my second, and about to start my 3rd!

I'm currently 16 but I look so forward to everything in the future and how much books I'll write, as well as my career path which is vet nursing. Thank you to everyone who read this and have a good day!
