Meet the golden takin.

It lives in the same bamboo forests as giant pandas in China, and honestly it looks like someone mixed a cow, a goat, and a musk ox then painted it gold.

· Some people believe the golden takin inspired the legend of the Golden Fleece from Greek mythology. Its coat really does look like golden wool.

· It produces an oily substance that covers its fur like a natural raincoat, keeps it warm and dry in the cold mountains.

· Its nose is huge. That big nasal cavity warms up freezing air before it reaches its lungs, which is pretty useful when you live high up.

· It's not small. Golden takins can weigh over 300 kg, about the size of a dairy cow.
