Can I send cards while visiting my home country?

SOLVED

I am a newbie (5 cards sent) and have a question! I live in Germany (I know, boooo, boring), but I often go to my small home country for a holiday, which I bet has way less users than Germany.

Can I actually send post cards from my home country instead of Germany? I know my card would still get German ID (DE-xxxxx), but would I brake any community “rules”?

Hello, I’m a complete newbie! 🪷

Since I started following this, I came to the realization that I possibly misunderstood the postcrossing idea..?

I see so many people here focussing on the card’s image and stamps. Meanwhile my profile description/preferences includes prompts on what I would love to get written (I honestly don’t care about the card itself, it can be cut out of shoe box).

I just sent my first 2 cards and while I picked some cute cards presenting the town I live in, i spent most of my time writting the text itself.

I understand that often people just write something generic (nothing bad with it!), but my expectation before I joined the community was to get a glimpse of a stranger‘s life/day. Did I completely misunderstood the task?:D

EDIT: Thank you for replies! It calmed me down : D
