Will be a foreman soon what do I need?

I’m a fifth year apprentice. Finishing in a month. Just came to a new job. We have another smaller job across the street. Just a build out/remodel and a new floor addition. My Foreman is giving me the opportunity to do it by myself. Not saying he won’t help me but he’s definitely busy.

I have adhd and I tend to get anxious when things are not in order or pressing. I’d love the opportunity to see what it is like to handle something of this magnitude but I need advice.

He said I might get a couple apprentices.

What in terms of stationery or organizational materials should I get so I’m not loosing my mind?

I’m an electrical apprentice and I have 3 months of school left. After that I have 37 more years until the “glorious” retire benefits kick in. I have 0% confidence I will be doing this for 37 more years. To be completely blunt, I could die tomorrow.

We are always told how much money we will have when we retire and yada yada.

I know I’m in a great trade but realistically I feel like I might have 10 more years in me, then I might wanna find something more comfortable and more rewarding.

I’d love to be a DNR officer or work at a zoo

Maybe I need to be more rational? I’m sure folks with high paying jobs like Doctors and Lawyers probably would do something different but the money is really the motivator??

I have a buddy in my class that has brought up to me more than once about getting more serious about his drawing and art skills. Like he wants a way out of working overtime at the mills until he retires. It just got me thinking

I’m ranting now but there’s gotta be more than working 40 hours a week for 40 years of life.

I hate to use the trades as a stepping stone because I know so many people who love what they do. I absolutely do but I still feel a void in my heart.
