Salt Kraken 💖

Does anyone else get completely distracted from the 'story' tasks of the game by the Salt Kraken? I find myself just trailing behind the big guy out of curiosity to see what kind of things will get dug out of the sand.

In my current run, I followed it into a screen and the dawn gliders kept burning the poor guy. Every time I carefully beat the flames off him. Too bad the game doesn't recognize this, but I can still tell myself stories about how he secretly appreciates the aid.

Joppa Variations

So far almost every game I've played with Joppa as a start has been pretty much the same as far as terrain goes. The only thing that's different is usually which items, if any, show up as painted/engraved, or what factions love/hate the residents. (Bonus points for when Mehmet is hated by the Wardens and Yrame destroys him and any other watervine farmer she comes across.)

But just now I started a new game, and the first message I saw was something about a sap weep's location being noted in my journal. A few seconds later, I realized the weep was parked right outside of Argyve's workshop.

I didn't know this was possible!! Still so many surprises for me. (And I've never even mad it deeper than a level in Golgotha.)

Firefly Confession

I have to admit, I get a little giddy whenever I find the Symbiotic Firefly. It might not be the best 'floating nearby' item, but there's just something about the idea of this cute little bug flying around me that makes me smile. I imagine it as my happy little buddy who vouches for me to all the other insects around (hence the +400 to insect reputation.)

I Didn't Realize It Worked That Way: Love Injector

So, I got in a pinch where I was sure I was going to die, so I used the love injector on the strongest looking thing in the fight. Turns out everything else in the fight was a psychic thrall to the one I used it on. So now I have a whole entourage following me. And... they'll all give me any of their items at no cost when I trade with them.

Is this supposed to happen?!

Lost NPC: Turning the Tables

I haven't been playing this game for a super long time yet, but I've certainly played enough to get lost a hundred times over.

So it was very gratifying to run into a lost NPC so I got to be the one giving directions instead of receiving them.

I love that this game keeps surprising me with things. I'm nowhere near to winning it, but I'm still having a blast.
