MMU Psychology deadname student at graduation
I‘ve just been sent this post from LinkedIn and I’m shocked that Manchester Met deadnamed this student on stage at their graduation, after twice being told their actual name to read out. Just don’t get how that happens?! feel bad for the student having to walk over the stage again in front of everyone
A friend of mine was at the ceremony and said that the announcer, the Head of Psychology, made loads of errors with student names throughout, like it was embarrassing to sit through
how is this even a thing in 2026… don’t they bother to practice the names or check pronunciation?! Definitely wouldn’t go there if that’s what you get at graduation after spending 1000s of £ss. great way to be treated!
Does this happen at other unis?!
