Best way to migrate multiple portfolios filled with crap to a Boglehead portfolio
I have behind me a trail of poor decisions scattered throughout about a half-dozen accounts. About 1M+ of equities: mostly random mutual funds, a few stocks. Some things I don't even understand exactly what they are.
A few accounts are IRAs/401ks, one Roth IRA, one taxable brokerage account, one MM account. I want to consolidate it and do something like simple TDF to unburden myself from the stress of thinking about this ever again.
What is the best way to go about doing this, in practice? I understand I need to liquidate various things, but can I move it all to Vanguard or Fidelity and have them do it for me?
Or is there a compelling reason to do it myself? Are there major tax considerations other than LTCG for the taxable account to think about?
