Thank You
If the person who helped me at Lake Crescent today is on here, I want you to know how grateful I am for you. For the first time in my life, I was experiencing a severe allergic reaction. I started to feel tightness under my right eye and noticed a bit of swelling starting, so I headed back to the trailhead to see if anyone had Benadryl while my spouse worked on getting our toddler back to the trailhead. To the person who gave me Benadryl (you mentioned you’re a guide and EMT), I cannot express how thankful I am for you. The reaction was so bad, I’m not sure I would have survived! That sounds dramatic but I think it would have become life threatening. My nose swelled and my left eye swelled (the right completely swelled shut), my throat was so sore, I developed a rash on my arms and torso, and I couldn’t breathe through my nose, by the time I arrived at the hospital. The hospital staff were amazing and I’m now prescribed an EpiPen which I will bring on every hike from now on until I figure out what caused the reaction. That was a scary day! You might have saved me and I am so lucky you were there. Thank you again!!
