Week 8 and just did a Park Run

I’m in week 8 C25K - did run 2 Thursday (28 minutes run)

C25K so far all been indoors on treadmill but total (with warm up and cool down walks) is around 5.78K (according to Apple Watch)

So parkrun 5KM was 35.21minutes

Not the fastest (my 5K PB ON treadmill is 28.06)

But I did it!!!! And of course ran for the longest I’ve EVER run.

I’m counting my parkrun at my run 3, and moving to week 9, final week next (30 minutes).

Any tips going forward or how to enhance it? Or Keep doing what I’m doing?

Cant believe it!

Hi all!
I’ve been doing C25K NHS app, on a treadmill.

I’ve just finished week 7!!

At the end of week 6 19th June. was my first 25 minute run. (Walk 5 run 25 walk 5).
The previous 29 min run felt hard!

That was the first time I went over 5KM and I also did 5km in sub 30 minutes (29.43 to be precise)

It felt like it was going to be impossible but I did it. I actually ran for 5KM and ran for 25 minutes straight.

At the beginning of the programme running for 3 minutes without stopping felt like a challenge, but each week I built on it and stuck it out.

I’ve now done a total of 4 x 25min runs. I’ve run 22KM in 10 days.

My last was yesterday and I set a new PB for 5K - 28.17!!

Now onto week 8, and will be running 28 minutes. An increase of time, and I hope I can do it. It’s only 3 minutes more, right?!

This weekend I want to try a park run - nervous about tripping and pacing so any tips welcome!

I am proud of how far I have come, I never have been a runner or would have thought of being a runner.

7.5 years ago my BMI was 49! It’s been a long journey getting here 🥹

Just having the consistency has been the biggest challenge and now I’ve got it, I think constantly about my next run and when this can be!

I hope this can be motivational for you too. Keep going and trying - if I can do it anyone can! 🏃🏻‍♀️
