Question about Allulose

Hey folks, I've found that for whatever reason I am unable to taste monk fruit. I've been using Truvia as my sweetener of choice but am curious about allulose since I hear so many people praising it. I'm wary of trying to order it since I'm in Canada and would have to import it. I wouldn't want to have to do all of that only to find that I'm unable to taste any sweetness from allulose as well. Has there been any correlation between folks who are unable to taste monk fruit also being unable to taste allulose? I've tried liquid Stevia and had the same reaction, just getting a cooling sensation but no sweetness. Has this been the case for anyone else? Thanks!

How to get separate displays on multiple monitors

Hey folks, how can I get it so that my laptop and tablet don’t both show the same screen? when using the same computer and tablet with Windows, my tablet screen was treated as an extension of the laptop screen rather than a copy of it. I could drag things down from my laptop to show up on my tablet. Surely there’s a way to have a similar setup on Pop OS?

Youtube Wont Play in Firefox

Hey folks,

I updated to the latest version of the Pop!_OS Cosmic along with Firefox and now Youtube videos wont play. It's like the video keeps refreshing itself over and over and I see the "Experiencing Interruptions?" pop up but nothing to click on. The subtitles/captions button also keeps flashing on and off as well. YouTube shorts will play but normal videos wont.

Has this happened to anyone else?

How to Switch to non Nvidia Version of Cosmic?

Hey folks,
I'm pretty new to Linux and found out my laptop's Nvidia GPU is too old for the Nvidia version of Cosmic to work properly. I keep getting messages like the following when booting up and shutting down my computer:

nvidia: Process '/sbin/modprobe nvidia-drm' failed with exit >

Jul 05 22:43:22 pop-os kernel: nvidia-nvlink: Unregistered Nvlink Core, major device number 510

Jul 05 22:43:22 pop-os kernel: NVRM: None of the NVIDIA devices were initialized.

Jul 05 22:43:22 pop-os kernel: NVRM: The NVIDIA probe routine failed for 1 device(s).

Jul 05 22:43:22 pop-os kernel: nvidia 0000:01:00.0: probe with driver nvidia failed with error -1

Jul 05 22:43:22 pop-os kernel: NVRM: The NVIDIA GPU 0000:01:00.0 (PCI ID: 10de:139b)

NVRM: installed in this system is not supported by open

NVRM: nvidia.ko because it does not include the required GPU

NVRM: System Processor (GSP).

NVRM: Please see the 'Open Linux Kernel Modules' and 'GSP

NVRM: Firmware' sections in the driver README, available on

NVRM: the Linux graphics driver download page at

NVRM: www.nvidia.com.

Is there a way to switch to the non Nvidia version of the operating system, or do I need to reinstall everything from scratch? Since I'm new to Linux, I'm not sure how to backup my files/settings/customization. Is there a simple way to go about doing that in the case of having to completely reinstall PopOS to switch to the non Nvida version? Thanks a bunch!

Crispy Wave Fern Problem

Hey folks, can someone help me out with my fern? It’s dropped a bunch of leaves and the fronds in the center have stopped growing. Some of the already existing fronds have deformed double ends while others feel strangely dry or rubbery. I always use a moisture meter and water my plants when the line is between a 3 and 4, between dry and wet. Its been in an east facing window for the years that I’ve had it and was doing well up until now. The leaves started dropping over the winter, after it formed the usual spores on the backs of the leaves in the fall.

Does anyone know what could be going on and how I can help the plant out? Thanks!

For Folks with Snakes

Hey folks,

Is there a local group or even an online one where people in the area who own snakes would be a part of? I have an order of small frozen rats that I got from Coast to Coast Rodents, but I'm unable to use them due to the rats having been irradiated (I'm feeding a cat). I'm hoping to get in contact with folks who have snakes to see if there's anyone who would want them, as these feeders are perfectly good otherwise. Thanks!
