SoundLeaf v2.1 is out: Watch app, Widgets, OIDC and an EPUB reader that can seek to narrator position
Biggest release I’ve done. Most of this list came from reports and requests in this sub and GitHub.
- Apple Watch app
Send a book or an episode to the watch, leave the phone at home, progress finds its way back to your server on its own.
- Ebook reader, free for everyone
It can find where the narrator is - Tap Go to Position while the book plays and it transcribes a few seconds of narration on your phone, finds that line in the text, and opens the page with the sentence highlighted. Back to where you were returns you to your reading spot. The audio never leaves your device.
- Auto rewind
Playback starts a little before where you stopped, and further back after a long break. Both numbers are yours to set.
- Home screen widgets
Now Playing, Recently Played, and a listening card with today, your streak and your library totals.
Other Notable Features
- OIDC - Login using your existing open id setup
- Faster library sync - Rebuilt the API engine for faster syncs and more reliable downloads
- Siri Integration
- New app icons to pick from, and drawn covers for books and podcasts with no artwork
- Bug Fixes: Multi file books playback issues, download issues, stutter issues and many more.
There are probably rough edges, this is a big release. If you hit one please raise it here and I’ll get on it:
