Normal or not for right after electrolysis?
Hi, I took the plunge today to try electrolysis. I did a consultation last week and she did a couple testers on my skin and it was a little tender after but I didn’t have any scabbing after the test. I went back today and I have some scabbing and swelling on my chin. I’d give the pain during the process like 4/10. Bearable but the pain kind of grew as she focused on one area. You can see we didn’t get very far in 45 minutes, which is disappointing but I’m not sure I can be upset about that. Maybe to be expected. She had thought during the consultation she would be able to do chin and neck in that time, which now seems unrealistic. She mentioned my hair has larger roots and she was trying not to damage my skin and didn’t want to go bigger probe-wise. She said I should wait at least 3 weeks to go back for the next session.
How long do you think this will take to heal? Is this normal? Should I look to a different electrologist? She was a nice lady. Also was described as a senior level electrologist (which was more $$) but seemed to not know what PCOS was and I feel like we are a large customer segment of this industry so that surprised me. Reviews were good! It was a place in the city with a few offices. Maybe my skin is just too sensitive for this. I guess I’d deal with daily shaving over permanent bad scarring if that could be the case. I’m also including a reference before pic. I iced it a bit and have avoided touching it. I read neosporin could be a good idea. And if I go back, read a tip about numbing cream and Advil ahead of time.
Thanks for any insight.
