The Magic Wardrobe... Centaur or unicorn

Sent my sister a progress image and she asked me if it was centaurs or unicorns.

I guess heads are nonessential for horse-like guards.

Otherwise the kit is sturdy and well made. But I hate these headless horsemen.

Magic Wardrobe

I already received the Magic Wardrobe and so far I like it more than I feared. It looks better than the images.

But I think it is a new nook so I cannot find anyone who has made it.

My issue is edge painting. I like edge painting. Normally. But even though I just started, it seems as if I made the wrong decision several times about colour choice.

You're building the left side first and the right later. But they are mirror parts. So I will have to follow through about the choices I make now.

What would you do?

Skip edge painting?

Skip until the end (difficult)?

Any advise?

Count Cat's Study

Count Cat's Study

I needed a straight forward build so grabbed Count Cat's Study.

It was a lovely build and I enjoyed building it.

Everything was good quality and I had no trouble fitting anything.

Mods:. Only edge painting. Added a cat statue on the mantel and of course the count must have a dog.

I didn't feel like leaving out Countess Cat. So she was placed in her own reading nook.

Of course I tested the light beforehand. And I tested during. And I tested just before the front went on. This time no lights came on.

There is only one light and I thought it was a bit weak, so of course I changed the two AAA batteries. But in the end there was no light.

I went to bed and the next day I opened all the walls up and changed the lights and everything into a tiny fairy light.

Not happy but better than nothing. In the absolute end I changed the batteries to another brand and lo and behold - the light was bright and shining.

I'm not changing it again. Facts are that I rarely turn in the lights in the other nooks. The fact that they use batteries annoys me and I just enjoy the ritual of going around turning them on and off.

Magic Wardrobe (Not-Narnia)

Oh I hope I just didn't buy a crappy book nugget. Didn't really do any research beforehand - just bought on a whim. I just love the lion and the wardrobe.

The discussion about the Tape That Will Not Be Bought, made me try some different things.

I bought from Temu (not living in Amazon country so haven't checked any other places to buy) tape for false eyelashes. Yes apparently that is a thing.

As you can see it looks a lot like the kind that comes with some kits. It feel and acts the same. Does it keep up? Don't know yet.

I also bought some kind of tape they use when they make it sell false nails (yes apparently that is also a thing). Illustrated in the last two images. You have to be able to remove the false nails again without residue, hence the tape feels a lot like a rubbery micro nano tape. It stretches and it is thicker. Can it be used for something? Absolutely. But I wouldn't use it as a replacement for glue.
