[FIX] Stellar Blade + Custom Nanosuit System (CNS) + UE4SS NOT WORKING on Linux / Arch / CachyOS / Lutris / Proton — no UE4SS.log, N key does nothing
I finally got Custom Nanosuit System (CNS) working on Linux, so here's what fixed it for me.
Setup:
- CachyOS (Arch-based)
- KDE Plasma
- Lutris + Proton
- Stellar Blade
- UE4SS + Custom Nanosuit System
(Steam + Proton should potentially work too, but I only tested this with Lutris.)
PROBLEM:
CNS appeared to install correctly, but:
- Pressing N did nothing
- CNS didn't appear
- UE4SS mods didn't seem to load
- No UE4SS debug GUI appeared
- Most importantly: NO UE4SS.log was being generated
My structure looked correct:
SB/Binaries/Win64/
├── dwmapi.dll
└── ue4ss/
├── UE4SS.dll
├── UE4SS-settings.ini
├── Mods/
└── UE4SS_Signatures/
FIX:
Completely removed my existing CNS + UE4SS files.
Reinstalled UE4SS and CNS from a clean state.
In Lutris/Wine configuration, added the DLL override: dwmapi = n,b
Started the game again.
After that, UE4SS finally started working and this file appeared:
SB/Binaries/Win64/ue4ss/UE4SS.log
CNS also started working normally and N finally opened the menu.
IMPORTANT TROUBLESHOOTING TIP:
Before reinstalling CNS over and over, check whether UE4SS is actually loading.
If you launch the game and:
N does nothing + UE4SS mods don't work + UE4SS.log does NOT appear, then the problem may be UE4SS/Proton DLL loading rather than CNS itself.
Once UE4SS.log is being generated, you're at least past the UE4SS loading problem.
Also make sure you test the CNS hotkey inside the actual game world, not the menus.
