“Golden Raspberry”

On her sweet sixteen she received the best and most puzzling present she had ever seen - a giant golden raspberry. Then she noticed a tiny note from the absent father who she was sure had forgotten: “Even though I’m far away, I think of you every day and love you always, forever, my dear sweet child”.

Of course she loved it. No one in the world had such a gift, luscious and ripe, ready to share. She would have traded ten more, though, for a glimpse from him.

She folded the note, handed it to her mother, and turned back to her party.
