Saw these gorgeous rainbow clouds over Vacaville today.
As I was driving, my 5 year old shouted “Daddy, look rainbow!”
I thought he saw a sign somewhere. Then he pointed them out.
Apparently, this is a real phenomenon.
“A rainbow in the sky without rain is a real atmospheric phenomenon called cloud iridescence (or sometimes a "fire rainbow"). It happens when sunlight diffracts through tiny water droplets or ice crystals in high, thin clouds, separating the light into vibrant, shimmering colors.”
Anyways. I thought I’d share this beautiful little scene over my beautiful little city of Vacaville.
