Box studies; Give some helpful critique please and am I doing it right?

Important part is that this is for a small box from close by.

Most are out of just trail and error and looking at the little cube, but I also used guidelines to try and give every box the same proportional value.

Following Prokops How to Draw Gesture but I feel like I'm not doing it right. Or is this just a case of keep at it and it will get better?
