My mom has taken me mushroom hunting since we moved here to WA when I was 6. My daughter turned four yesterday (😭) and I’d love to take her. We live in federal way, wa and if anyone has any places that we could go that’s fairly close (toddlers + long drives 😑) could you please share? We usually go hunting in the mountains but that means committing a whole day and I’d like to just try it out with her somewhere close first.
It hasn’t rained in a few days but I’m hoping today would still be a good day.

We’re not looking for anything exotic. Love slippery jacks, chanterelles, boletus types.
